Hey Yum Yum, don't give up now! You'll get the hang of it soon enough..
The first thing I did on my bike was change out the CCT (which on the F4/F4i is a biatch to get to) and it was fine. Sure, I'm quite handy but I had never really worked on bikes before. The next thing I did was paint the bike and put on a few small decals (also first time). Then came installing the Scottoiler, changing out break-pads and a new front rotor, changing the oil and filter, new chain/sprocket set (riveted it myself too), alarm, bunch of wiring, HID kit, airfilter, sparkplugs and heated grips. Everything I had do do was the first time doing it and it turned out fine.
As long as you know "lefty loosey, righty tighty", have the tools you need and aren't completely incompetent you'll be fine! A manual is also a very good investment (and youtube goes a long way)!
Please don't bring it to a dealer unless you really, really have to.
EDIT: You are probably thinking it might have been a good idea to go out on that date huh?![Wink](https://cbrforum.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Also, which parts are you waiting for? I'm sure the community will try to help you out.
