Guess I'm late to the debate here... but I do have one thing to add. Why do we, and I include me in the we, why do we always recommend people stick with the bike they have whenever questions like this are asked, when none of us would be riding the bikes we have now and be as happy with them as we are if we never upgraded ourselves. Also, whenever someone gets a new bike were always congratulatory, but when we're asked beforehand if they should, we always say no. Confused..
I mean I loved all my old bikes but I wouldn't havethe 1krr I love and ride now if I'd never moved on at some point. Hell, I think I only owned my first bike for a single season.
Maybe, if he can manage to swing a deal and move on to a newer bike that he'll def. be happier with, he should...

Hey now, i can still get my wife down on her hands and knees just beggin me....
to come out from under the bed and fight like a man...lol
Well im going to put the money into it. I get 2 free months of rent for signing a 14 month lease. My wife is letting me use one month to fix my bike. New fairings, new chain/sprocket combo, and new rear tire. about 750 bucks so that leave me about 200 left to use. Hmmmm what do i want?!?!
Okay so this is what im planning on getting.
Fairings off ebay-500.00
Rear tire-125.99
Chain, sprocket combo-130.00
Jet kit-125.00
Throttle cable-20.00
Right hand mirror-30
Front brake lever-20.00
My total will be about 950 bucks.
So the total invested in my bike will be about 2600 and ill be able to keep it for a few more years till my insurance will drop allowing me to get a better bike.
