Yes, all that fascinates me too ..I look up at the stars and think of the millions of them all around us and thats just in our galaxy alone ..then you leave our galaxy and there are so many other galaxies out there that seemingly go on forever all around us in every direction ... the other thing is that you are not even seeing all these galaxies and stars as they are today, but as they were maybe thousands or millions of years ago ..so long has the light taken to travel to earth ..some of the stars you can see out there no longer exist today but their weak light is still reaching our planet thousands of years after they have blinked out.
I think our nearest local star is what, 4 light years away so even that we are seeing as it was 4 years ago ..wehn we look at the sky we are staring right into the past!!

you know what trips me out? thinking about how space is supposed to just go on forever...like that cant possibly be true! but then again, it cant just ****ing stop somewhere you know? i dont know, man...but it keeps me up at night
