Piano, the tragedy is the extent to which that accident is going to hinder is ability to nose pick.

What is it with you guys and Suzukis? I always thought they were the bottom of the barrel, but there seems to be a real hatred around here. Don't you know how politically incorrect that is?

Ouchieouchieouchieoooooooowwww!

How the **** did he miss every warning in chain maint about NOT doing it with the bike in gear? When he went to the hospital I pray the docs and nurses recognized this guy's probable future and convinced him to drive something less reliant on common sense...

Still teach that to the younger generation these days in the Trade.

LMAO ~ it is very ironic that this was posted on a Gixxer forum. What is it about these bikes that promote squidliness?

When you are willing to buy a bike that is THAT cheap and THAT ugly and reviewed THAT poorly, with a reliability record that is THAT bad, consider the quality of the decision maker.

You are assuming: 1) he was so dumb that the risk wasn't obvious to him, and 2) he could read.

Nothing. The 750 is still a ****ing kickass bike. They're just the highest-selling bike out there so of course there's a higher proportion of idiots on them just due to the sheer numbers.

Scary thing is what the guy says later in the thread

lol yea, it was a mistake that's all it was. I build/maintain all my vehicles and I've never had an accident like this. I honestly didn't know any better. I read books on riding skill and technique, practice everything from my emergency braking to body position on turns...but I never read up on how to properly clean a motorcycle chain. It was a poorly judged mistake on my part. I've been riding over 3 years now with only one accident and over 35,000 miles of seat time over 4 bikes...but I still couldn't clean a chain properly. Now I will pay.
3 year, 4 bikes, 35k miles? This couldn't have been the first time he cleaned his chain that way. He 'honestly didn't know any better'? And he built / maintain all his own vehicles?

It's amazing how long we can get away with doing something incredibly stupid, completely oblivious to the danger involved

Allegedly according to himself he can read. Apparently in reading all the books on riding he skipped the service manuals

Warning: Never inspect and adjust the chain while the engine is running
From the Honda Service Manual
