Got a '98 4 door ex, bought in 02 with 50,000 miles on it, current reading is 200,9**

The only problems I've ever had were Califorina emmisons parts.

Thanks cman, I'm actually looking to pick up one w/ 205k miles on it. Runs well but needs some trans work. Is there a forum where I can educate myself a little more or look for some used parts?

I have a 1998 Honda Accord EX V-6. It has transmission problems and the paint is peeling. The tranny will slip on me sometimes even though I got it "fixed". The older Accords tend to have tranny problems around 100k miles. The same thing happened to my uncle's '98 Accord. Our paint on our cars are deteriorating as well. I currently have about 121k miles.

Why do you ask?

**** I am never buying a car again that is close to 200k miles on it. **** kept dying on it and then finally the motor on it died. Only had it for like. 1.25 years. Totally not worth the money I payed for it. It was a Honda Civic.

i've had numerous honda civics and acura integras (about 7 total) and over 1/2 of them i have been close to or passed the 200k mark. except for normal wearable parts never had any major problems (well anything that wasnt caused by my foolishness) i love honda/acura great vehicles .

Nope. The one you're looking at was the only one made in that time period.

Do you understand why I had to say that? DO YOU? How do I reach these kids!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a friend that knows of a 1998 Honda Accord 4 door 4 cycl. Auto for sale that needs Trans. work. Right now I'm without a car and the bike is out of commission for another month or so. The price is unbeatable even if I paid the money to get a new trans.and all he told me was that the engine ran well. So.. I just wanted to get some feedback from fellow Accord owners to see what kind of issues they were running into and what they did to fix them.

Basically, long story short is if I pay for the car with that kind of mileage.. what will I be getting myself into in the near future. Good news is the car reportly hasn't been in an accident and was a highway commuting car.

Plus i'm sick of car payments and 19mpgs [:'(]
