(Cars never stop for bikes.)
The only time you will get a cage to stop for a biker is if the cage is a bikes with the unability to ride that day.
(When my buddy pulled up a Honda Goldwing stopped as my buddy was stopping and asked if I needed any help. I asked if I could grab on to his heated grips for a second so I could feel my hand againand he did. OH MY GOD I WANT A FREAKING GOLDWING.)
God I love my goldwing in weather like this.

BMW's are tightly built.
First time I rode one I was amazed at the build quality.
Would I own one? No.
Body styling is always boring and yes that matters.
If I were going to spend 50 to 150k on a car it would be something like a Porsche 911 or Ferrari anything I could get.
Haven't seen a tumbleweed in quite awhile.
Too bad they aren't more attracted to semi-trucks, SUV's, or those thumping, neon lit, square shaped bic lighters.

Never seen a tumbleweed in GA, We do have very stupid squirrels. I came around a bend at 60 just taking it easy... squirrel ran out and jumped straight up off the ground as we made contact. hit just above the front fender, one hell of a mess. looked like i wheelie through a slaughter house

Going 70mph...........hit a giant tumble weed that sticks to the front of the bike like a magnet.

Seriously though, glad you're okay.
Okay...here's some cold, hard German facts.
'Bimmer' is for the cars, 'Beemer' is for the bikes. BMW made motorcycles before they made cars, and while racing against BSA, company nicknames at the track came as 'Beemer' and 'Beeser'. Once car production got underway, no real enthusiast could properly refer to the car using the bike's nickname, so they said 'Bimmer' instead.
Bayerische Motoren Werken neatly translates to Bavarian Motor Works.
And in the intervening time since that one movie with Connery and the young kid, it has been discovered by BMW themselves that the blue and white symbol is merely a reference to the crested flag of the company's home town in schnitzel-ville. BMW could find no physical evidence to support the claim--that they themselves had adopted until recently--that the 'propeller blades over sky' was the symbol's origin.
As far as stereotypes...bleh. Those are everywhere. Who cares. Take an M3 for a drive and you'll forget all about stereos and typing...
