Thieves want to get in and out quick, the longer they are there the better chance of being caught so you chaining it up will deter them. Also does the parking lot have lights? Parking under lights will deter them as well.
I actually started thinking about the whole light thing when I typed this... im not sure, I didnt check when we were there but I will swing by and check today, due to the fact that it is set back from the street, I would think the landlord would have put in some sort of lighting...

and yes a light will hinder them but its also one of those could work either way things, without a light they may not be able to see it to begin with...

im sure itll be fine, just bummed it cant sit in a dry garage anymore :'(

Yeah man I hear ya. The first year I had my F4i it sat outside in my apt parking lot. I never did anything to secure it, I know I'm retarded but thank the Lord nothing happened to it. I always had a cover over it not that it protected it that much, there were many morning that the seat was soaking wet. I would just keep a lot of chain lube handy as the morning due will get to it and make it rust easier.

I don't think it is 100% waterproof but i have had my bike out in rain storms and usually if anything there is just a bit of moisture.
Just make sure it is tight so there is no loose spots for the water to pool in.
I also usually just throw one of those 100% waterproof canvas's over top of the cover it from the local hardware store for like $10 if I know its going to be a big rain.

Motion lights will work wonders to deter people as well, I have one pointed right at my bike and set for 5 mins so its not on to long to show people there is a bike there.

my father bought one of those solar powered sensor lights. it works great and its wireless, all you need is to mount it in the right place. that way it will only turn on when someone will try to get near it.

that not only make them run away but also alerts you if youre still up.
they are brighter than some wired once i have seen.

plus a nice alarm on your bike would be probably needed, just in case.

good luck with the move.

No cover is 100% waterproof. There's a giant hole under the bike where water can pool and condenstion will cause it to get under the cover.

I have a cheap spy 5000m alarm in Ororo. Paid $100 + 2 hrs figuring out the remote start wiring. Best protection, however is Comprehensive Insurane to pay you ifnshe gets stolen
