I live about a half hour from Indiana and some guys I know ride down there and ride around with their helmets off. I don't get it. I can't even ride without my jacket and gloves on after I put my F3 down. Guys are always giving me crap about the jacket when it's 90. I just can't understand people.

I live in KS, we dont have to wear helmets, but you wont catch me without one.
Ive seen guys go down with just jackets on, and the jackets ride up on them.
So, that being said, I actually ride everywhere(dont care how hot) in full race leathers, gloves, boots and helmet, call me crazy, but sweat washes off in the shower, rash in the shower SUCKS

When I 1st started riding I rode without a helmet, had an open face that I used on long trips with goggles (Ala Snoopy Vs Red Baron). Full face helmets where 10 years away. Riding without a helmet or with open face is good till you get gravel or bugs bouncing of your eyeballs & face or as happened to me, someone throws a ciggie butt out their car window & you collect that in your face, then when it rains it feels like needles on your eyes & skin. And that's not even taking into consideration coming off at slow 60kph (35 mph). We have helmet laws here, have had from the 70's (71?), but even so, I like my helmet, apart from being safer, also covers up Gods mistakes & makes me look like a big tough biker!!!!! (damn, broke a nail)

Odds are your going to eventually crash in some way, now, knowing that, you want to be wearing a helmet when you do or not? Cause you never know when it's going to happen. Seen my roommates head crushed by the wheel of a following bike before, no joke. Needless to say I always wear a lid now, so should you. No point making your friends go through what I went through.
