Default Helmet Etiquette

Just curious, when you ride to a particular destination what do you all do with your helmets? Like meeting someone for dinner, do you leave it on the bike or bring it inside? I usually take it with me if I'm going to be somewhere for a long period of time. Something doesn't feel right about leaving something so expensive outside, even if it is locked under the seat, it's still easily cut. I also don't want to be the D-bag carrying my helmet around everywhere either.

I carry it with me. I don't care what people think. Besides, it completes the leather racing gear look, right? lol.

If I'm meeting someone for dinner, assuming they're not riding, I'll put it in their locked car.

I carry it with me. I don't want to come out to find my helmet gone.....and then I can't even ride home, double **** off.

What's so d-baggish about carrying your helmet around? I do it all the time if I am not in eye shot of the bike. If I am near it and parked, or just going in somewhere quick, I'll usually just drop the psgr foot peg and hang it.

I always think of how crappy that would be to get the helmet stolen and then not even be able to go home, that's gotta be the worst feeling ever.

I do it all the time too, sometimes I just feel like I get some "Look at this guy thinking he's cool" looks when I walk into places with it. Doesn't bother me too much, just more curious about what other people feel about it.

If I don't have the top box on, then I take it with me, who cares what people think?

Also it takes a very special kind of low-life scum-bag to steal a helmet off a bike.

So if you ever catch one, be sure to make them feel extra special

it depends. if i'm at work, i take it inside. if i stop at a diner for something to eat - i leave it on the helmet lock.

but there's not going to be a helmet lock on my bike once it gets done, so i'll be always carrying it with me.

I will carry it with me all the time. If I know I am meeting someone in the place that it wouldn't be cool to bring in helmet and with my jackets etc, I will drive my car
