Just wondering why Honda runs with one headlight for the daytime running light? I heard its a safety issue.. How can that be safe?

 

Honda says that during the night a dual low beam might cause drivers to see the approaching motorcycle as a car far away instead of a motorcycle much closer and possibly pull out in front of them. I don't buy it and am considering a mod for dual low beam, where the normally high beam light is shining at around 40% capacity until the high beam switch is activated.

I'm tired of the one-eyed pirate "hey, you have a headlight out" look.

 

I just run my high beam all the time. I get flashed on occasion but at least people see me.

I don't ride at night often....

 

i run my high beam all the time as well but the only night riding i do is riding home from work everyday and i have been flashed maybe 2 or 3 times in the last year and a half. i have these super bright white xenon bulbs or something like that i dont remember i just know they are brighter than stock and they kinda look blue. i also adjusted them a bit so now i can see very well at night

 

I was thinking of a mod as well to run both lights during the day..seems like a good idea..I always get people saying..Hey..you have one light out!! it gets annoying... I have rode during the day with my high beams on as well so that I have both lights going and people not asking me about a light out.
