I am very **** about the appearance about my belongings until they get their first "character dink". Mine came during the first month of ownership when my wife backed into me and my bike. Now, I keep it cleanish, and keep up on the maintenance, but I have no time or patience to keep herup to showroom standards, unfortunately.

I removed and painted every fairing and peg bolt, painted my heat shield, painted my levers, sent the pegs to powdercoat, spent 5 hours pinstriping my bike, polished my pipe 3 times in a row cuz i wasn't happy with it, removed and reinstalled my taillight 4 times until i was happy with it, used a rubber seal around my sliders to hide the cut edges........and i clean my bike after almost every single ride.

Wow....i have a problem. No wonder my girl thinks i like my bike better than her...........

On my '03 i had my swingarm, all four pegs, engine covers, and lever powdercoated gloss black at the same time (see the pic in my siggy) It was all done by TRG Coating, the vendor here on this site. Not sure how much it was, but i remember it being a good price. For my '07 i just had my rearsets and passenger pegs coated by TripageLED.com (he's on 600RR.net) and it was $50 to do all four pegs in flat black (no disassembly needed)

I like my bike to be washed and waxed before I take it out for a long run in the twisties. But running aquick trip around town Ido usually don't mind a little bugs or dirt here and there. As for scatches... unfortunately I need a new frame slider on the right side of my bike, tail section, and both right side turn signals. Roughly $480.00 new. The vandalism came at a bad time (just bought all the mods), so once I build up the cash closet again it will be back to new. But as mentioned above .. if you ride the twisties hard or try to anyways your going get a little rash here and there so I'm still tossed up see how its a newer bike but I do ride harder in the twisties and plan to push hard on a track day. Here's the damages from the push-over. What do you guys think I should do?

I agree with you, the details are the most important part of anything.

The smallest detail can make or break the look of any vehicle. The small, little details is what matters the most. Anyone can slap a crazy looking paint job with crazy looking wheels.........but then you get a vehicle that looks like it has a crazy looking paint job with crazy wheels.

I'm more of the "add to the natural beauty of the vehicle" type of person. You add things to compliment the vehicle, not take away from it. Everything you add to it should look like it belongs, so that when you step back, it all flows together.

When someone looks at your bike, they should go, "Wow. Great looking bike." ..............not "Wow. Great looking turn signals." because that means your turn signals are now over powering the look of your bike.

Just some food for thought.
