Halloween......
lets hear it.....anyone seen it, lets get some reviews.
me and my girl went and saw it lastnight, i gotta say.......rob zombie is a sick s.o.b.!!!! i love graphic gorey movies though, i like being "scared". this movie was much more graphic than those directed by the original Halloween guy. but i think the movie's plot was pretty cool. he made like a prequal to the original Halloween but then also recreated about half of the original movie aswell.
i'd give it a 3 out of 5.

i think it couldve been better. i think john carpenter did an excellent job of telling the original story... though rob zombie did a very good job with his version. zombie played with the time line to bring it into a more modern setting which through the movie off a lil bit (ie; cell phones, acura integra..etc)i did like seeing the background information about michaels life that the original didnt get into as much .. music was a lil weak too
i liked seeing Danielle Harris back in this movie but i thought her character was stero typical and dr loomis character was torn in 1/2 this movie (carpenters version: im here to stop the beast/ zombies version: im your friend ) so Malcolm McDowell was forced to try and bridge the two versions and all though it was an alomst impossible task for it to work effectively he played it well... the gore level in zombies version i thought was actually going to be more then it was but was more then enough to satisfy the average movie goer.
over all i found it to be a worthwhile movie to go see.. if you are a stickler for authentic story line i think you will find your self picking the movie apart but if you just want to go see a good movie that will keep you entertained through blood and "what the hell did he just do !" then go see it by all means
over all a solid 7/10

I haven't seen it yet, but I have XM and there was about 3 hours of interviews with Rob Zombie about the film and why he did it and I was honestly impressed with his viewpoint on the project.
it really makes me interested in seeing it

i saw his 1st one "devils rejects" but have not yet seen "house of 1000 corpses", i'll have to check that out.
and havok, you described that movie VERY well. i think i was most impressed w/ how he went back and let you into Micheals life before the original movie, but also kinda towards the end made his own version of the original..........in how it was just like the first one when jamie lee curtis is babysitting and they go to her friends house, slash slash blood gore, you know the rest, haha.
but good description havok!

I hated the movie. I am a huge fan of the Halloween series. In my opinion Rob Zombiescrewed the pouch on that one. Michael not having any human emotions nor motive made thefilms what they were. He had to go and give reasons behind whatMichael Myers
did.ie; broken home, being bullied, etc. Andhe changed the damn original! I was under the impression that it was going to be just another chapter in the series not a remake of the original. That was the worst Halloween in the series imho.
