Down here its been getting 17 degrees at night [:@]
This is way I live in Southeast Texas. During the winter I might not ride two or three days out of the week. It's always warm here!

hatebreed, weather doesnt bother me much. if its raining....i toss on a rainsuit, if its cold....i get my cold weather gear and layer up. i know alot of people that dont like riding in the cold for pleasure b/c they say it isnt any fun. i still tend to enjoy myself even if its freezing cold. a couple weeks ago i was riding home from work and there were snow flurries coming down pretty good, i was cozy in my gear and rode a little past my turn off home to putt around in the flurries and enjoy it, lol. nothing beats being on a sportbike i.m.o.........no matter what the weather.

and i cant believe 55 is cold to you, haha.

17deg, Crash? im not looking forward to that on my commute to work. coldest so far this winter for me going to work has been 26deg. and i was completely fine other than my hands. i wear A* drystar gloves w/ some glove liners i got from a army suprlus store. they do the trick but not for the entire 40min ride to work. i rode in one day last winter and it was 8deg. if i could just keep my hands warm...........i'd be SET! i'd ride around in that kind of wearther. i dont want grip warmers though. i feel like thats cheating, haha. plus i dont want the big bulky buttons on my bike.

I talked to a friend of the family last night who thought he was tough **** for having a longest ride of 250 miles without stopping (fuel stops not included). lol. I told him that I know a lot of sportbike riders who easily have beaten that distance. He scoffed at me. Scoffed! Dick.
Only 250 miles and he thought he was a badass?!?!? O-M-G!!!!!! [sm=icon_rofl.gif][sm=icon_rofl.gif][sm=icon_rofl.gif]

Now I try not to brag cuz I know I'm not all that either, but come on.... last tuesday I did 700 miles non-stop (minus fuel stops) from Georgia to Illinois in 12 hours, and in temps no higher than 45 or so the whole day (it was 31 when I got to my dads). Slept that night, then wed afternoon rode another 200 miles further north to Chicago, in the same temps (33 when I got to my moms). Also did 1100 miles in 22 hours last year on a saddlesore ride. So tell him to suck it!! hahaha Sorry I couldn't resist

But back on topic..... glad you were able to enjoy your day off, Jay! The weather was beautiful here today too (Chicago, IL), but I was stuck running around with my mom and sister, baby clothes shopping... UGH it was awful!!!!! And somebody called me daddy too [&:]I waspretty pissed off by the time we got home, which was well after dark(I didn't want to go with in the first place), so soon as we walked in I said BYE and got on my bike and went for a ride. Didn't get to enjoy the beautiful day like I had originally wanted to, but still got a ride in none the less. It was 33* but I wasn't cold at all... still had fun Just got back a lil while ago

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeexactly! i think when people see us riding in these temps and give us funny looks.......they think we're stupid and freezing our ***'s off. whenever i stop somewhere at a store or to get gas and people say the same........damn.......thing........'you must be freezing!'. and its the same reply every time.....'im not cold. if i said i wasnt chilly, i'd be lying. but im not cold. i could ride all day in this.....you'd be suprised how warm i am'. and then there's 'a little cold to be out on a motorcycle, isnt it?!'..........and my same reply every time....'EVERY DAY is a GREAT day to be out on a motorcycle'

actually all you need to do is p/u a cheap textile jacket that has a FULL fleece inner liner. not just a vest. then you layer up underneath that, and layer up your pants. i bought some A* drystar gloves for $30 that are waterproof, wind resistant, and have a fleece inner liner.

LOL Jay I get the EXACT same thing...allll the time. You know how many times I got asked that on my way up here to Illinois?? I had a truck driver in Tennessee just south of Nashville start talking to me, and he said "man you must be freezing on that thing!". Next a lady in a Penske rental truck in Kentucky about 30 miles south of the Illinois state line.... "aren't you freezing on that thing??". Some old people in a Sentra came up at the same time, the woman got out of the car first... "aren't you freezing on that thing??". Then the husband gets out.... "aren't you freezing on that thing??". I told them all... "nah not really!" Kinda funny though..... this was like 2-3 pm, and the lady in the penske truck told me... "yea we've been seeing you off and on in front of us all the way from this morning back in Georgia!". Turns out they were from Georgia too and we were both heading the same way.

Then again on wed, in north-central Illinois on my way up to Chicago, another truck driver.... "man you must be freezing your *** off!" LOL. Got talking to him for a bit... he rode an R1 so we were talking about bikes for quite awhile. Real nice guy!

People don't understand.... layers + leathers = WARM I was actually alot colder when I'd stop for fuel and breaks, cuz I didn't have the helmet and gloves and everything on

weather was good here and I hated it, saw SO many guys on their bikes, and I can't do anything about it without a back tire (gotta wait till I pay for my books) but it got to probably 65-70
