So i broke down and bought a prebuilt computer. Which makes it the 2nd one ive bought all together and its a Macbook 2.16ghz core2 duo.
With CompUSA going out of business i got this laptop for 800bucks brand new, because it was missing its optical drive which is cheap online. Gotta love working for a company going under. Just waiting to hear back from Apple about a new job so i can get the drive even cheaper.

Nice. Is your store one of the ones closing or turning into a TD? I just finally got myself a new system put together and I am quite pleased myself. It's nice to be back up to date with technology.

 

TD? I don't know much. Im running the technical service department and they dont tell me much since my boss left. As far as i know we are selling to bare walls.

 

Tiger Direct. It just came out that Tiger Direct is buying up most of CompUSAs remaining assets, stores included.

Yea i heard about that. I hope so, but im not counting on this store becoming one. Well if you hear anything about the Oklahoma city store let me know, because they are keeping us out of the loop.

 

AFAIK they said the stores that were gonna close should have done so right after christmas. All the remaining stores are to be TD retail locations. At least that is what the article led me to believe. So that also leads me to believe our store will be turning TD as well, which I wouldn't mind at the least bit.

 

Macbook? GREAT choice. Macs are the way to go man. (I just picked up a new iMac a couple months ago, and no issues ever.)
