Got to brag.
So for like the past month my bank has been sending me credit card offers. Each time the percentage rates got better and better. I've been having my single card from another bank for over a year now. My APR for that card is around 24% but only $250 credit limit. So it really only adds up to like an extra $2 a month for what I have on the card. Well my bank sent me an APR for like 8% PreApproved Plat Card and I was like holycrap.I checked my credit score back in Nov or Dec and it was 673 and I just checked it again... 723. at 19y/o I have better credit than 50% of America w00t.
don't screw it up - my girlfriend has TERRIBLE credit and it's a deterrant for us to tie the knot cuz i don't want my excellent credit to get screwed too........
but congrats and just be careful!

Congrats Nauree.
This is the time when most screw up their credit. Stay away fromcredit for awhile..lol
My only recommendation(even though you didnt ask [8D])would be cancel the card you have and pick (1) good credit card offer(Low APR)to go with, Sounds like your bank wouldn't be too bad to go with. Banks see this as making a wise decision. However, don't apply to more then3 credit card agencies because this will then turn a positiveoutlook into a negative one.

Why would your excellent credit get screwed? You dont take her credit just because you get married. She still has her own credit and you have yours. Just dontdo co-app loans and you will continue to get good rates.

I'm also not in any rush, i'm 23, she's 21 and we've only been dating a year :-) but it was a pain that she couldn't even get a cell phone because her credit was so bad, we needed to get one of those "pay as you go" phones which ended up being like $60/month...
I started out like that too bro and took a ton of precautions along the way to make sure I maintained it. Hell, I've NEVER payed a penny of interest on a credit card in my life because I make sure it's payed off by the end of the month. The key is to never spend what you don't have. It has really payed off for me because now I'm 25 and in the 90th percentile and it's getting me a super low fixed rate on my first mortgage!!!
