Good with names?

^^ I agree. American's are usually more intrigued with who the next American Idol is going to be, rather than finding out if there's life on Mars, supernovas, etc. etc. Not bashing American's or anything (because I'm one of them), but we all have to admit, the American cultural norms are a bit "low-standard"..........largely thanks to MTV, VH1's "celebreality" and other BS shows like this that parents watch with their kids (or let their kids watch), rather than inspiring, high-quality programming found on Discovery, TLC, PBS and BBC.
Not to mention that I work for a cable company that doesn't offer the NASA channel (which is provided to cable providers for FREE), yet we have 5 MTV and 4 VH1 channels.
(sorry, guess you can class this post as a mini-rant)

I'm in the UK right now studying in Canterbury and I'm taking a class called Modern Britain in which we discuss the cultural differences between brits and yanks... and I've discovered we suck... [sm=sigh.gif]

A lot of good Americans died so they could be so smug. They are lucky we just didn't take their poor excuse for a country in partial payment for all that blood.

Lame? Outstanding expenditure? I think you mean the war--not the miniscule 0.1 percent of the annual federal budget that NASA gets. More money gets spent on operating aircraft carriers than on the entire space program.
Way to establish the Average American status...uninformed and apathetic about math and science. No wonder we rank near the bottom for industrialized nations. Good job Yanks.
Our beleaguered space program is the only thing this country has left that leads the world (aside from Marines, oohrah), surrounded by bean counters and Luddites--which is why the newest kick-*** satellite is up for re-naming before launch--to get the kids interested in exactly how the world goes around. But not you kids, you kids will be glue eaters and booger wipers until the day you die.

You need to do the research before throwing out numbers like miniscule 0.1% of the budget. It's 0.6% of the budget Not much at all HUH!!! well 0.6% is 17.3 Billion dollars going into space out of the 2.9 trillion dollar budget.
maybe if they took that 17.3 billion and put it into education our country wouldn't be so bad off as you put it. What good is picturesfrom deep space really good for? Its not going to change anything.
So you can stare at all the pictures of deep space from "VADER" all you want and enjoy the billions of dollars wasted on something that will never have an effect in the real world. Oh Im sorry maybe the will invent the "GAMMA RAY GUN" to have another weapon of destruction. Give me a break!!!
I also can't believe you qouted me as if I said that in a sentence "lame? outstanding expenditures?" It was a fricking joke.
**** probe = Aliens = Outer space = SpiritRR
You need to chill and think before you blast when it was not intended to insult you!! So now you can flame all you want cause I think "Vader" and all the other deep space waste of our money programs are STUPID!!!!!!
O NO HE DIDNT!!!!
Dam someone got his panties in a wad. Its tax money, it usually gets wasted on something.
How many tries did it take for nasa to get a probe on mars? 3 or 4 I think.
I remember one rocket went WAY the **** off coarse cause they had one group per rocket (2). One used the metric system and the other english system. Now I'm no nasa scientist but I'm pretty sure they dont equal each other and you would have thought they'd check each others work. Nope, lauch the ****er and see where she goes.
