I mean I can't just do whatever I want, because they can do whatever they want. If I disobey them, they can easily chop my nuts off. I have no credit, so how the f can I get a loan for school? That will take me from college student that will make a great living once I'm out, to homeless, living in my dodge ram in the walmart parking lot.

Thats another thing, being home is going to suck! "be home by 1" is what I hear EVERY NIGHT before I leave! Like come on! I know kids in 8th grade that go bowling till 7! I think they are both just sexually frustrated and take it out on me

Man, that's a tight leash for a college kid. I'm a freshman in college this year and I use my bike to get back and forth sometimes. My parents expect me to be good and decent and home timely, but I mean they just want me to be safe. They know I smoke weed and whatnot, and my dad took the MSF course with me lol.

Maybe you should try to sit them down, make some graphs and hand outs for them and have a talk with them, all calm and stuff. You are an adult now...

ouch. i thought it was bad when i had a 2 or 3am curfew in high school. Just do what i did and tell your parents to get over it. After junior year i told them to be realistic and that im gonna go to college in a year and im gonna do whatever i want you cant control me there sooo whats the point of doing it here? Eventually they gave up. Your 18, its YOUR bike, if you want it you can have it. I dont get what the reasoning is for not bringing your car or bike to school. Theyre not against you having one at home so what does it matter if its at school. Seems like you need to have a little talk with them. +1 to jpan youre a big boy now just do it, youll be glad you did.

OH WOW, if they hear the word weed they freak out.

They obviously have never smoked. But they did a good job listening to their parents, so everyone who smokes weed is some unrecognizable monkey. My shoes from work (at a restaurant) produce this strange smell (I honestly cannot, for the life of me figure out WHY). After leaving my shoes in the garage overnight after work, the garage reeks of weed. There is none in the garage, its the shoes. My mom asks "whys it smell like skunk in here?" hahahaha.

But yeah, drugs are an automatic "don't look at me again" thing for them.

That's how my family is. Pot smokers are criminals in their mind. (we have no drugs in Japan except from getting some from yakuza) But they are million miles away, and never told me what to do with my life after I conditioned them.

And they have lightened up a little since college. It might just be because they love me and hate my sister. I think they want to get on my side so I manipulate her to do what they want. She is weird as **** though and I try to fix that, but I'm not making her a "do what mother and father say" because they are weird too.

I'll try talking to them, but I did before and they whipped out the "its our house so our rules" game. I doubt they would actually throw me out, but I'm not really wanting to experiment. They know I'm up past one at school, hell I do school work later than that often enough.

The thing is that they are too stupid to think for themselves really. If a kid comes to you with weed and says "smoke this" and its actually for a good reason (yes we know that will never happen but play along), they will say he is the ball grease of the earth. If a doctor comes up to you with a prescription for weed, but there is no good reason for you to take it then they will say "listen to the doc". Could be the same bag, doesn't matter. They fall to things that easily and it's really annoying.

Other than that, they pull ideas out of their bumholes and it is really frustrating to me.

Ouch man. I can't sympathize with you but I can empathize with you. My parents have always been pretty cool. My mom hates my bike but she knows how much it means to me.

Not sure what to tell you but I hope it works out!

Thats the thing. I never smoked much, it just isn't that important to me. if you get caught at school you get expelled, no questions. If you get caught drinking its a conduct referral (even though they literally have a presentation given by the cops that is called "how to drink and not get caught").

My sister started smoking a few months ago, I can only hope for the best for her. two more years of being in the house, then who knows what'll happen with her.
