Get a "real" gun like a Sig Sauer P220. I prefer my weapons to be made of metal and pack a punch.
So help me understand. The G21 and my G30 in 45 acp dont pack as big of a punch as a sig p220? I thought the only thing on my Glocks that werent metal was the frame?

Well, the only glock I have gotten to shoot was a 19.. and I enjoyed it. Felt small and nice, easy to bring up. Since then I have been shooting single stack wilson combat 1911's. There is just something about a 1911 that brings a smile to my face.

PS, I enjoy having REAL safety's on my guns... not a "trigger" safety. oh, and I don't own the wilsons... no way in hell could I ever afford that stuff! hahaha, I own a couple .22LR guns.. thats all. My mate is a firearms instructor and owns the 1911's.

well i am looking for something small lightwight and concilable oh and syphen i believe the glocks have 3 internale safeties on them so i say 3 is better than 1 and i am fairly sure a .40cal packs enough punch to stop a threat its all about gun control not spray and pray, oh and lou you buy me a sig and i'll carry a sig but if i was gonna spend a grand i would go ahead and get a "real gun" like a spreingfield 1911

i am a navy small arms and IL state firearms instructor and we have glocks, berrettas. sig and .38 revolvers..

i prefer the beretta over the sig because i feel like the sig wants to fall apart and the berretta feels rugged. my .02

i dont like the glock or the sig WITH NEW SHOOTERS only because of training people with no safety and carrying with one in the hole and no safety is a little un-nerving..

my personal weapon that i carry is a glock 30 in .45.....it has extended saftey, extended slide release and extended magazine release and i also got the high cap magazines and hogue rubber grips and i love it...

try and go to the local gun shop and see if they will rent you a gun- in wisconsin they will rent them for 5.00 a hour and all you have to buy is the ammo and targets... oh yeah and the XD is SWEET!!!

i have a ton of 1911,92FS and M4 magazines that i picked up at a gun show last year i kind of went overboard and bought ALOT of them... if anyone needs some PM me..

Glocks have the three internal safeties, but, simple fact....pull trigger it goes boom, regardless, it's safeties and operating system I like to equate to a double action revolver. I always hear about glock safeties and other safeties that will prevent a firearm from discharging if dropped yadda yadda yadda, I don't know about you guys but I don't go around dropping pistols and such. In regards to the 1911, it has a grip safety and the manual safety, so It has two...it won't fire if you don't have a firm grip on it, and you cant fire if the manual safety is on. Glocks have no manual safety. To each his own, much like our bikes, we all have our likes/dislikes.

45ACP and 40 have very similar ballastics. They pack the same punch when using the same brand of ammo. The sig is a schweeeeeeeeeeet weapon though .
