Default getting a title

i was just wondering if any one out there is from MI or if any one knows if its hard to get a title for and abandon bike. the bike was left in someones garage for about 5 years( he was tired of storing it). i ran the numbers on the bike and the last thing the secretary of state had on it is that it was in andaccident accident. is there hop in getting a title.

most places you can get a title for an abandoned vehicle

here the proces is send a check to the motor vehicle branch, tell them you want a replacement copy of the last insurance papers
send this old insurance paper, along with a transfer paper to the last known address of the last owner, via REGISTERED letter
if you get the letter back unclaimed, you can go transfer it into your name

just call your local DMV, it'll be different from state to state.
