Gas
You can use anything available from a pump in your area.
Higher octane doesn't mean more performance, unless you have the mods to make use of the boosted octane.
I'm running 95 unleaded in a 1000F.
It's the lowest we have.................

i put mid grade (89) in mine last night. didnt feel a difference what so ever. tank stayed cool as **** the whole time it was like havin ac! i been runnin premium since i have owned bikes but ill post if i run into any issues. also i have a buddy wit a 99 900rr who has run low grade the entire time and its still a beast....ill take the savings on chosin a lower octane
you should always run closest to the reccomended octane without going under, since thats what the engine was designed to run. Run higher octane, and loose power, Run lower octane, and run the risk of pre-ignition. If 86 is the minimum, run 87. You'll get the best out of your engine.
Actually if we can get away from the octane argument, I'd like to hear what brand gas everyone uses.
There's a Getty station down the block from my apt. Not too sure about their gas though. My gf's car and my bike ran chitty after getting gas from them. Different weeks so I doubt it was simply a bad batch of gas.
