PC all the way for me. never owned a console, mabey never will.
and as for the HDMI for computer, I had mine in the living room for about 3 months hooked up to a 42" 1080p Plasma, looked amazing (equal or greater to PS3 in games) , the only problem is mouse and a key board work better on a desk then a coffee table, my back hurt to much after playing for a while, where as a console you can just lounge back in your couch. My roomate had a PS3, it was fun, but i still played the comp more.
Edit, they make a cable that converts DVI (computer) to HDMI and it works great.

I just got the red ring of death yesterday. No problems till now and I got it when it came out NOv. of '05. Pissed me off too. Even with that my vote is for console systems for sure. Would have gone Ps3 but wasn't out when I was ready to purchase a new system.
Tru dat rrasco...
ya, whoever said the thing about just kickin back and playin as opposed to sitting at a desk hit the nail on the head. It's nice to just lounge back on the couch and beat somebody's *** on NHL 09 or shoot off some zombie limbs in Dead Space.
