That looks pretty bad. The other guy would be in trouble for letting her use his bike? I understand the military is big on regs but which one would he have broken?

Holy ****. That's pretty mangled. She's probably lucky to be alive. Keep us posted.

Well she didnt have her motorcycle safety course or any of the paperwork your supposed to have in order to ride a motorcycle on or off base. If it is his bike then he is supposed to ensure she has all the proper paper work in order to let her ride it. Im not sure which AFI(air force instruction) says it but i know there is one because i learned about it at a commanders call about a year ago. So on top of him getting in trouble she may also have to pay her medical bills because she didnt have the authorization to ride it.

So im hoping they take it easy on her but like i said its all of the tax payers money that will be fronting that bill so they may make an example out of her and tell her to pay it.

Well I don't mind footing that particular bill. But that's my personal opinion. Hope they don't go after the guy either.

Looking at the wreckage, I'm sure he's sufficiently reprimanded

Ya if it is his bike im sure he has already learned his lesson.

As far as the bill i hope they dont pin it on her. But then again this isnt the first or last person that this will happen to and the military gets kinda upset when they say "Dont do this without this!" and then you go out and do it and it will cost them a pretty penny.
Then ontop of that if she is medically discharged from this accident she will collect her disability pay from the military for the rest of her life. But i guess if it was me in her position i would be praying they cover the bill as well but then again i followed the rules so wouldnt have to worry about it. Thats just my 2 cents though.

I will update when i hear more from her. Be safe everyone.

I hope your friend recovers quickly. The bike is replaceable. Its too bad about the permission or lack there of but all those details can be sorted out later. Your friend is going to need the support of her family and friends now.
Heal fast.
