I'm not really sure why. Maybe because I don't want a Popeye leg? Its nice to stretch out a little at the lights i guess, and it just feels more natural than 1 foot to me.

Left foot down.

Sometimes I'll put down both to stretch.

Left foot 90% of the time for reasons already stated. At some of the longer lights, I'll go to neutral to give my hand a break if I've been riding around town. I'm watching the lights though on the cross street, and as soon as they go yellow I'm back in gear, which gets done with the right foot up.

Both, that's how I was taught in my msf class.. Also, my bike is slightly tall for me so in case the ground surface is a little uneven, I feel more secure putting them both down.. I usually keep it in first unless the light is excessively long and I want to give my hands/wrists a break.

1) bike runs hot so it's nice to cool off a bit

2) if there is already a car behind me, there's less of a chance of being rear-ended

3) because my bike has an aggressive riding position so i pop it into neutral and like to loosen up my body when i hit that rare traffic signal while riding.

Anyone got a reason why 'busa riders all seem to drag their feet for half a block?

They're used to drag racing and use the foot dragging to stabilize their take off?
The inertia at takeoff from so much power pulls their feet back and they can't get em up on the pegs till later?
They want to wear down their Adidas evenly so they scuff the toes and tops?
It's the Hyabusa Rider Foot Wave?

Well I am short so put both down for balance but leave it in 1st with my hand covering the front brake, flashing my brake when I see traffic coming up on me.

i use both feet just for stability factor. i guess that can be considered saftey. what happens when you guys put only your left foot down and its a slippery spot on the road and down goes you and your bike? with both legs down i dont hardly have to balance the bike as my weight sitting on it pretty much keeps it still. when on one leg, you are balancing it and putting more weight on your leg which seems like unneeded strain on the muscles. granted its not a lot but the point is valid enough to make i think.

also ill use the front handbrake to flash when cars approach. why do you all use your foot? i mean our hands are already on the bars why not make use of them
