JP - Charlotte is in NC!!....

In all seriousness you're a young guy - check out some of the popular NC and SC towns.

NC - Willmington is a cool coastal town with a neat downtown area, it has a young and collegy feel.

SC - Charleston is the same as above with a more "money" feel. Very old south but a killer town.

NC - Charlottte is more of a Finance/big business town. Raleigh is a little smaller with a tinge of a small college town in a big city feel.

Just some thoughts in that area. Your young still so you might enjoy some of the beach towns that are UP and DOWN both coasts (Mirtyl Beach, Nags Head, Hilton Head, etc...)

I know Charlotte is in NC but barely. I have family just across the boarder on lake wilee (sp?). I'm not real concerned about proximity to the ocean as long as it's within a about 2 hours. Living in Michigan and the great lakes sort of ruined the flair of the ocean for me. Why would anyone want to swim in an ocean full of salt and sharks and hurricanes when there are lakes without the salt and the only dangerous things to worry about are sturgeon (docile compared to most sharks) and the occasional waterspout (what's water going to hurt anyway?) :P College town is good though

Default FML too

What the hell is up with vans anyway? When I moved to VA from MI I drove a 94 Chevrolet van that I took the seats out of so I could bring my bike with me. On Monday after work, I get in it to go pick up the radiator hoses I ordered for the bike and it never even made it out of the subdivision. Just picked it up today after dropping $1500 on rebuilding the transmission. AND the differential is making noise, like a bearing is going to fail. The mechanic thinks its serious enough I shouldn't take it on the e-way. Quote for replacing the rear axle with a used unit was $1100. I have to drive 650 miles back to MI in April.

If I was in MI I would do this work myself. The driveway of the place I live at is a 15 degree grade and about 20 feet long. Not good for car work.

If I was in MI I probably wouldn't have fixed the transmission, I would just get in a different car. I would like to think I would have kept the van and eventually fixed it, but I really have a vehicle storage space problem. At least now I can let the van sit most days and take the bike. Tomorrow barring any rain I will have the new hoses installed and ready to ride!
