Fireman Arrested During Rescue
For what it's worth, I like cops for the most part and I don't really have a problem with them. However, it's shown here that the police officer made a bad judgement. If anything, they should have settled the dispute after the patient was taken away on that ambulance. I don't know what you guys are seeing, but I don't see any medics walking away from the patient...just a fire capt and a firefighter. There were already medics/emts at the scene prior to the fire dept's arrival and they were attending to the patient. IMO, the captain didn't do anything wrong. Kid, in order to save lives, the priority is actually to maintain scene safety. Without a safe environment, you cannot save lives that are not immediately life threatening. So what if they blocked two lanes? Two more were still opened. So what if people encountered a bit of traffic? Big deal.... I wouldn't want my life in jeopardy for other people's convenience. Sorry, kid, but it is obvious who is wrong. Afterall, who won the case?
I would have done the same thing. There is no reason that firetruck could not pull over one more lane. The fireman was cocky, and tried to mess with the PD. I dont think he should have been awarded anything. Yes- you all hate me now. But, I am going to school to be in Law Enforcement, and I absolutely think that firetruck could have moved over another lane.
Keeping the lanes clear is paramount on any kind of interstate. Those of you claiming it's best to put it there have obvously never worked a traffic acident on a highway. I'm telling you from experience - you're all wrong.
There was a definite, "puffing of chests" between the two men. You clearly show no experience for the situation because you admittedly can't see two grown men in a pissing constest.
I'm not defending the cop, really, I'm not. I'm simply saying he had a right to request the truck be moved and the fireman had no legal right to assume command of a scene (we're talking para-military facts here, people - you do what you're told), and he had no right to argue with an order.
However the cop displayed his larger nut sack by being a total dip**** and arresting a fireman on the scene of an accident.
Again, these two deserve each other - they're both ****tardsas far as I'm concerned.

Haha, that's less than couple of blocks from my work, Hazelwood on I270 is always crazy, and yeah, that cop was not right, I guess he got his *** beat on GUNs and Hoses or something ( boxing matches between cops and firefighters every year), oh and I hope I don't get to work in Hazelwood when I'll be getting out of the police academy, haha.

Well, I'm sorry to dissapoint you, but keeping lanes clear is first order of business.
If someone is an idiot - a bright red fire truck in the middle of an otherwise clear lane isn't going to stop them from being their ignorant selves.
Honestly your comment just shows your inexperience. It's an example of someonelooking at something and making a judgement without all the facts. It may seem best to someone not trained in traffic enforcement and safety. But I assure you it makes the best sense.
Certainly more sense than parking a damn firetruck in the middle of the highway... lol.
Okie - unreal is about the only word to describe the whole thing.
