its not executions that cost so much money, its the high profile state funded capital cases that cost millions. New Jersey alone has spent over $250 million dollars on capital cases, 60 death penalties issued 50 retracted, only 10 people remain on death row, not a single execution to date, but thats another topic for another day.
i remember i saw statistics somewhere that showed that more people die from medical malpractice than from guns, time for surgeon control!
