Whats interesting about the gun control debate is that Republicans will fight tooth and nail for thier guns, citing liberty and the 2nd amendment. However, Republicans have no problem supporting legislation like the Patriot act that basically taks a dump on numourous amendments in the bill of rights. Its not problem if the writ of habeaus corpus and the fourth amendment are suspended but the 2nd amendment, never.

My idiot friend is always bashing the 2nd ammendment and saying guns should be banned completely. Something about how that the ammendments must go through the supreme court in order for it to be looked upon as a right. Otherwise its up for the states to decide? Supremacy or something. I'm like, what, every state allows some type of gun ownership... so it is a right.
