Default F4i with F4 title and confusions?

hey guys, just bought my F4i the other day but some things confused me about it.

i found an 01 F4i on craigslist for 3,000 with 11,000 miles on it. i have been looking for an F4i in that price range for a long time and finally found one.

so i show up to the guys house about 2 hours away to look at it and had my truck planing to take it home.
2 days after his post on craigslist he layed it down on a turn and slid into the ditch. the fairings are scratched pretty good but nothing i cant fix with sanding and bondo. i looked the bike over and everything else seemed good on it. i then asked him for the title and this is where i got nervous.

the title was clean and clear but it was for a 2001 honda F4.. i asked him why the title says this bike is an F4 when it clearly is an F4i. he says that year bike is titled as an F4 and said he wondered the same thing when he got it. the puzzling thing tho is the 2 vin numbers on the frame matched up but they said F4 also??? im very confused because everything on the bike is obviously an F4i, but it says otherwise. my first thought is that someone built the bike and made it an F4i with an F4 frame? i asked him who he got it from and he said he traded his project civic for the bike from some kid. i asked him what the kid wanted for the bike price wise when they made the trade and he said 2,500. i was really confused how an F4i with 11,k miles on it can sell that cheap from 2 people? anyways i took it for a ride and it rode smooth and clean so i took it away for 2,500. on my way home i was feeling a little unsure but got my buddy that owns a dealership to look at it. he said everything looks alright but would have to take it in to really go through it and see whats going on.

i feel liek there was more confusion but i cant think of them right now.

bottom line is i bought the bike for 2,500 and just curious to what you guys think about it? i realize i may have goten something a little different then what i thought it was but for 2,500 with 11,k miles i didint want to drive my diesel 2 hours home without it.

BTW. it has a micron slipon and a power commander under the tail. with aftermarket tale lights and blinkers.

ill get pictures tomarrow if it would help.

congrats on your purchase, sounds like you got a good deal.

the bike is technically an cbr 600 f4. ever notice how the previous cbrs are f2, f3, f4 etc? the f4i is just a later model f4 with fuel injection(hence the i). no worries they are all titled as f4's(at least where im at)

bought mine new and got a title for an F4
no big deal

and they're cheap because it's 8 years old now and isn't the contemporary model that all the squids are crazy for

and if you're ever unsure about a deal, don't do it because you'd drive home empty handed
seems like you're ok this time though
