A fall from an average mans waistline is said to compromise the integrity of a helmet.
Is that empty or on someones head? A filled helmet will hit with more force than a empty helmet.
Unless it was on my head. Then it would still be empty.

This just hit me, and thought I had to say it. A dropped helmet is a hell of alot better than dropped bike!

Have you ever seen helmet testing? Repeated weight drops on the helmet time after time. Youll be fine.

YES opinions vary concerning wearing a helmet that has been dropped . Now because of the construction material of the Shell a blend of4 materials pulling the headliner out and checking for any visible damage is what I would do if the helmet had been constructed of Kevlar and fiberglass blend. I would felt more comfortable in saying use it but you have the added material carbon fiber, which it self is strong and durable but not designed to transfer momentum in the same way that Kevlar is. So based on the Shell's construction. I think you will be all right
BTW
If the link you posted is where you purchased the helmet. I've used them in the past and have had nothing but good service from them

Helmets are not designed to take an impact "empty"
From 3' onto a hard surface you have probably damaged the inner shell.Hairline fractures UNDER the shock liner of polystyrene.
You won't see damage by visual inspection.
Have it x-rayed and checked out by the manufacturers agents.
The last thing you need is to have it fail when you really need it.
see www.arai.com and check out the safety section.
Personally, I would keep it only as a bar ornament, but then I'm a bit **** about safety.....
but maybe that's how I got to be this old....
Sorry, ranting a bit, just lost a friend in a bike accident. RIP Dave Strauss.

There will be a ton of opinions... I know that even I myself have gotten into a crazy amount of arguments on this topic... so here's what it'll boil down too.

[ol][*]I (Personally) think it's PROBABLY okay, but it's your head in that helmet, not mine. I would never feel quite right until I replaced it because I want that piece of mind... and a helmet really is a "One Use" item. I would buy another one when money permitted, or I would send it in to be analyzed.[*]If you want to keep the helmet and be sure, again, send it in to be checked by the company.[*]The issue will be spilt 50/50. People say everything from "I got hit in the helmet by a baseball bat and it's still fine" to "It fell off the coffee table on carpet, I'm going to check it to be sure".[*]The best thing you can do is use google and get all the evidence you can, then make your own call. It's YOUR melon in that thing, so in the end, your decision is all that maters. Be as informed as you can be, and make your choice.[/ol]Good luck!

Oh... and if you want to see my big throw-down argument that sums up my thoughts on the helmet issue (With tons of helpful helmet links mixed in)... feel free to buckle down and go ==>HERE<==
so i read your "thoughts" on this matter, i was lmao due to the other guy trying to come out on top. it was funny.
