down on freeway, how messed up?
Ok so i'm a new rider but I just bought a bunch of gear.
if i'm wearing this, assuming I don't hit a guardrail or get ran over after going down, lets say someone cuts me off and i get knocked over. how messed up am I going to get if i hit at 70mph, are the jeans going to wear all the way through and rip up my skin, I don't want to end up looking that that girl w/ the skin grafts! I know they don't have impact protection, but just sliding will they make it through 1 slide?
I know eventually I want to get on the track and i'll want something better like an A* suit or add the HRX pants to what I have right now (but ridegear.com was sold out of them)
HRX cortech jacket
a* knee guards
sixsixone bomber shorts
a* SMX-plus vented boots
shift kevlar riding jeans.

If you go down wearing shorts...you will look like skin graf girl..She was wearing Capris and a hoody i believe and luckily a helmet...try not to think about crashing think about avoiding a crash...if you take a MSF course they teach you about the crash "chain"...id say ..and this is just me..wear jeans at all times...how does the saying go..id rather sweat than bleed..
would I be a lot better off with these, and maybe just wearing them over regular jeans when I'm just going somewhere, say to work or school, vs wearing the shift kevlar jeans?

Jeans are pointless above 15 mile an hour (estimate of course). Icon Aramid reinforced pants are better. Textile over pants will save your skin and leather is the best of all.
Always dress for the crash, not the ride.

Uhh... 15mph is way over, frick, i wore a hole in my left knee going 70mph around a turn and draggin the knee, and I only thought my knee barly grazed the pavement... You might as well assume that jeans offer no protection, it would be best.
these aren't regular "jeans", or are you saying that it doesn't matter. if thats the case I will return them for some textile pants that i'll just wear over my regular clothes!
basically the jeans will offer only a minimal protection but its better then exposed skin. if your hitting a track day yea get full leathers, if youre hitting passes like "49" (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...amp;iwloc=addr) yea you'll want alot more protection, but no one really expects you to wear full leathers going over to jack in the box haha
