I've definitely shopped around insurance companies to find the cheapest price. I pay $419 for a year, and that's for full coverage on an '02 F4i. So, does MSF lower your insurance? Yes and no. Depends on your insurance provider. Some companies include that option to lower the price of your premium, and some don't. Regardless, if you have not taken the MSF course, you should do it. I remember that Progressive was the company that quoted me over $6k for full coverage. Screw them. I went with AAA. State Farm was the second cheapest.

Edit:
I think that Progressive was the company that offered a discount if you belong to a club, so think about joining Honda's riding club. You get a good discount from it and you don't pay that much. I remember that it was worth doing it.

state farm didn't even ask me. geico wanted 1100/yr for full coverage, progressive wanted 800, and state farm wanted 220/yr or something. Most insurance companies will ask you except for state farm for some reason. geico and progressive did...
