Do you know the rider?

Do you know who this coward may be? He caused an accident that has two riders near death, then left the scene of the accident - on HIS MOTORCYCLE!
If you are in the Myrtle Beach or Surfside Beach areas, please look closely; anyone you know or have seen around town? Maybe you have worked on this bike or recognize his t-shirt and bike?

He made a left turn in front of a husband and wife as they approached from the opposite direction from the opposite way on Highway 17 at the Glenns Bay Road/Surfside Drive intersection (on their bikes). The husband and wife were each on their own Harley Davidson motorcycles proceeding through a green light; the hit and run rider made a left turn onto Surfside Drive ( possible going to the Sundown Bar/Pub ) right into them and blocking their path, clipping them with his rear tire which caused both their bikes to crash in tandem - the husband was taken to a local hospital and is in serious condition, but the wife was flown by helicopter from the scene to Charleston with life-threatening injuries (very serious). As of today 5/17, 3 days later, both are still in critical condition. Witnesses that saw the incident say he stuck around for a few minutes, but just as police arrived, he took off - however, he was caught on camera leaving the scene by a police cruiser's in car video camera. This is a very serious situation and ironic that we always hear of cars turning left into the path of our bikes at intersections, but unbelievable a jerk on a motorcycle would do the same! BUT WORSE, HE THEN LEAVES LIKE A COWARD, WITH FELLOW BIKERS THAT HE HIT LYING NEAR DEATH ON THE GROUND!!!
He may be on a black 2004 or 2005 Honda CBR 1000, with a custom under the seat style exhaust and possibly custom wheels. Looks to be a young guy, late teens or early to mid 20's, about 5'9 to 5'11". Being on a sport bike, he is probably local to the Surfside Beach, SC area:
He may have been turning left to go to the Sundown Restaurant & Sports Pub located there at 810 Surfside Drive, so if local, and the fact that he is in a t-shirt and what appears to be a baseball cap - HE MAY BE A REGULAR AT THE PUB. There is also a Hardee's there as well as a Kangaroo Express BP gas station at 1011 Glenns Bay Rd (on the opposite corner.)
Anyone with information on the motorcyclist is asked to call the Surfside Beach Police Department at (843) 913-6368.

Thursday, May 15, 2008: A motorcycle crash in Surfside Beach that sent two people to the hospital late Wednesday night is now being called a hit and run by police.
The hit and run suspect was caught on tape before leaving the scene. A camera on a police cruiser was rolling as he remained on a scene following the crash. Investigators tell us the man stayed on the scene a few minutes, then decided to drive off.
It happened just before midnight Wednesday night, at Glenns Bay Road and Highway 17 Business. The chief of police in Surfside tells us a man on a sport bike turned in front of a husband and wife, each on their own bike, while they headed north on Highway 17. The wife was flown to MUSC in Charleston in critical condition and her husband is in stable condition at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
Anyone with information on this jerk is asked to call the Surfside Beach Police Department at (843) 913-6368.
