Default Dissapointment in 9-11 ride

I have to express my dissipointment in our local sport bike riders.

I recently took part in a motorcycle ride in honor of all that lost their lives and gave all that they had 9-11. A local motorcycle club sponsored the ride, and yes the majority were harley riders but there were bikes there of all makes, models, ages, etc. It was a really neat experience, to say the least. The overall turnout was exceptional!! Over 880 bikes participated, here is where my disappointment comes into play. I was horrified that out of that amount of bikes, there were only 6, yes I did type six! sport bikes!

I know we all have our differences in riding styles, attitudes, etc., but for an event like this, I REally feel that all should be put aside and ride for the cause.

I would welcome any ideas, comments, etc. on how I may take an active approach to make sure that next year we (sportbike riders) have a better showing.

Did the group puting on the ride try and market to the sport bike community? It could be possible that they only marketed to the Harley riders.

We did a 911 ride here in Fla. Over 5000 bikes and maybe 10 of those were sport bikes.
