I was watching a special on the autobahn (I think that is where I saw it), but they talked about how European cars don't have cup holders and other such niceties because they realize the point of having a car is, well, DRIVING. It has nothing to do with holding your double-half foam- decaf-grande-mocha-choca-soy-spresso, or having extra inside mirrors for putting on makeup, or a place to plug in your vibrating pocket p_ssy, etc. Don't get me wrong, I'm talking out out my other end because at work, I run a laptop in the truck, cell phone, etc...but I do it on the side of the road...not while on top of some one's motorcycle!

Its everywhere guys, people are just plain dumb. Like I say, ride it like they are gunnin for ya. I plan on everycar in my field of view to switch lanes, pull out, or come straight for me. The most common thing I get, well recently anyways, is people trying to turn under an overpass from a non turning lane. left 2 lanes are turn only, right 2 lanes are straight only, im in the right turn lane, go to make the turn, some bull dyke bitch that looks like mokey from American Chopper turns from the straight lane. Im mid lean, so I pick my right hand up and turn towards her and motion a big WTF? She slows down and points for me to go...ugh, like, duh! Not to mention this happened at the same intersection twice in the same day.

As the reality thing is discussed, a lot of drivers will talk **** about other drivers or throw hand signals that normally cant be seen, I like being on a bike that way we can be seen and the driver really knows how we feel.

I agree with you, legal or not, it's just a BAD idea, especially knowing all of the idiots that are out on the road, that one split second your not on your game, so a** hole pulls out in front of you to keep from rear ending someone else....BAM. No thanks. Riding a bike is hazard enough without adding to it by lane splitting! Be safe!
So if I can't lane split, I don't see a point in riding in stop and go traffic. I would rather drive my car and have the luxury of a/c and some tunes.
