Coolness... yea definitely read through the service manual, you'd be suprised how much you can learn just from reading through it and knowing how everything works! The older diesels are so simple it's rediculous... everything is purely mechanical, fuel pump and all...no PCM or anything to control it.

If you get it and have any questions or problems let me know.... I'm not quite as familiar with some of the older stuff as I am the 7.3 and 6.0, but I can figure it out. Also one of my riding buddies is also a Ford diesel tech as well, and he's been doing it alot longer than I have so he knows alot more about the older stuff.

 

cool man. thanks for the scoop. I'll give ya a shout if I run into problems. I've always thought of deisels as some black art in that allot of the shops I toured didn't work on them and it was a completely different ball game. My only plans are to re-do the brakes and fluids throughtout. Then go from there. Again, I appreciate it.
