DEAL ???
so i am dier need of a rear tire, i had orginal planed on geting tires on the internet but when i ordered they were on back order for a month so i looked around town for a deal just couldn't find one then my lovin wife goes and blows 400 on pp2cts for me. now i really wished i could haev keep them but we had bills and that was way too much !!! so i returned them. no i was under the understanding that if i replaced the rear with a different brand then you needed to change the front ( it looks great plenty of stick left ) .. but after read a few post i have decided to just replace the rear until i can afford the pp2ct for the front and rear.. so i went to a couple places thring to seel me the pp for 260 just for the rear and still pay for the install (stupid dealer) the cheapest i found was a place that had pilot race medium for 150 installed . is that a good tire and a good price ? i know some of you guys race have you used this tire before? it only needs to last like 3 maybe 4 months til i got the extra cash to replace both is that ok ? this is my first new bike and never had to change the tires before (bikes died before i needed to replace the tires or they were just dry rotted to all hell ) sorry for the long post !
I think a good rule of thumb (depending on your riding) is 2 rear tires for every 1 front tire. Of course it's going to depend soley on how you ride, but the front tire doesn't take as much abuse as the rear. I don't see any problem with mixing brands, as long as they're the correct sizes.
pilot race or power race?
pilot race is the old school race tire, power is the new school ones.
i wouldn't recommend running race tires on the street. they wear fast and also get killed after so many heat cycles.

yeah i did a serch on them earlyer and read what you were talking about the heat cycles .. that got me thinking maybey not he best tires to put on but i only need them to last maybe a month or 2 .. if this is a bad deal then i won't get them. i am just unsure. would they be ok in that short of time?
