Crysis wot Crysis
As a few people have posted fer Call of Duty, wondering if anyone else has got this. Played a demo version of a game called Crysis (again & again) in the past few days & found it really a great game. Its made by the mob that did Far Cry, sort of similiar scenario (Island) but thats where the similiarity ends. Anyway, just found my early Chrissie present. Released here yesterday
I pre-ordered from Amazon. UPS has it and should be at my home today. Only probably is that I just installed Call of Duty 4 last night
Now I don't know which game to play first.

Played it all day yesterday.
It's INCREDIBLE. The AI is phenomenal and the voice acting is top notch.
Only drawback is that you need a BEAST of a machine to run it anywhere near top settings.

Ok anyone who has it... will dual 8800 GTS 640's, 4GB of 800 mhz ram, dual 10k hard drives in raid-0, and an AMD FX-62 overclocked to 3.4 Ghz give me any expectations of max settings?

With that setup, you should be fine to run it, however, are you running vista or xp?
In XP, to access max settings you'd probably have to run the hack that allows you to access the directx10 stuff.

FYI. The demo is only 1 core support so if you have 2 or more core cpu's then expect better game play with the full version.
This game will support up to 4 cores. The more you have to better it'll play. Each core does its own function. Physics, AI, game logic, and particles.
You should expect smoother & higher frame rates in simulation.
I've viewed pics of the game in DX9 (XP and Vista on high) and DX10 Vista. DX9 XP seemed to be the best picture. DX10 just offers slight better shadows. DX9 Vista looked like the lowest of the three.
Also Looking at things in the distance, DX9 XP had better detail.

Yes there is a "hack" in the demo to allow you to run even higher settings, but it is not DX10 stuff. DX10 is vista only.

..Its not being released here till tomorrow
