Thumbs down Computer woes.

I've been absent here lately (hopefully at least SOME of you have noticed). ANyways my computer has been giving me all sorts of problems. I have it up and running sort of.

I can't load any pictures though which is pissing me off. I have some good ones from the motorcycle show etc.

Anyways, I might have to buy that new laptop i've been thinking about getting. (jpan - I might be PM'ing you for some help on this)

I have to reload my operating system from what i've seen in the research about my computer issue, although i'm not really sure where the disc is...

ANywas just wanted to pass it along.

lets go shopping nate

Yes, delete partition on the hard drive and reformat her. that will fix the speed and image problem.

Tell us the brand and model of your computer. We can try to find a Recovery Disc for you (disc that reloads your OS).

We might have to do that soon JP. I need a new gaming laptop soon'ish anyways.

This one is a HP Pavilion dm4.

Sprock - i've run all the Virus software / ad ware stuff. I think its relatively clean.
I only use this computer for basic home internet surfing (read lots and lots of **** and some google).

Its says chkdsk won't run because of a corrupted file or something and to do a system Restore. Well I can't do a system restore because it says I can't run chkdsk or something.

A nice catch 22. I read a few things, did a few DOS style prompts etc etc. I tried to delete the folder that it says the corrupted file is in but it won't let me for some reason or another.

Basically from what I read it says its time to reinstall the OS. If you guys have any ideas / suggestion / advice that would be cool.
