I have had times when my mobile is not working, on recharge or lost ..actually I dropped my mobile in the sea a couple of weeks back and need to buy a new one so the main landline has been a Godsend ..also the land line is just part of my tiscali broadband package here ...

When I built my PC, I used a case that lays flat and put in what I thought was a solid, late-generation ASUS board. I mean it works fine, unless the case lid is in place, then the audio gremlin comes out and screeches thru the speakers or headphones. I can't play music or games or anything with sound...supposedly it's the mobo itself, but for months now my shiny piano-black case cover sits on a shelf.

Doesn't really enrage me, but it was much prettier with it on. Think I'll try an MSI or something next time.

Spirit...is your sound integrated or using a sound card? Integrated is more likely to be a grounding issue than a PCI card...but its possible with both

Yep, integrated NForce or some such. I checked in over at EggXpert and I'm not the first one to have grounding issues on an ASUS. It's okay, next time I'll get a nice, roomy mid-tower, maybe spring for PCI audio.

Nah, got accused of conspiracy and misinformation. Made me giggle to think our little site was so important as to require those tactics ...

I don't think anyone is lying, if that's what you mean by misinformation. If you mean the few people that do know what is actually happening are being tight-lipped and not quelling any rumors, or offering any reassurance to mods and admins...then I believe that. Hangin in the breeze, man, it's the American way.
