I'm soooo lucky!!
My wife encouraged me to get a bike and actually chipped in about half the cash to buy my bike!!
She rides pillion quite a lot, summer evenings are great, we get the kids organised (ages 11 to 24). Then we go for an hours ride or so. It's 'our time', we stop off for a Coke and watch the sun go down and then head home, kiss the kids 'good night'. Quality time
If your lady wont go on the back, buy a 'Hurricane', they cost nothing and are great 'two up', very comfortable for the pillion, why have one bike when you can have two!!!

my wife loves to ride on the back....when I sold my bike and a week later I told her I wanted a new one she took me out the next day to a local bike shop and told me to pick one
She wants a bike of her own but she can barley drive a car, I dont trust her enough to let her get a bike.

I had couple of girls that I've been seeing on the back of the bike, but I think they did that just to impress me, I had one refuse to get on the bike, even after I told her that there would be no more dates till she gets on the bike. Most girls give me crap about owning a bike, yada yada dangerous yada yada my friend died yada yada you're going to die, gtfo
My bf has told me about all the *** his bike has got him before we started dating.. even when it was in pieces in the garage or in the middle of winter... he just promised to take them for a ride... lol Guess he catches girls looking at him and he informs me when I miss some dudes checking me out.
We started dating cause of the bike. I had taken a MSF course a year before I met him just to do it. I have never been able to ride on the back of his since it's a 'drag bike'.. so he convinced me to get my own and would ride me on the back of it to get used to the feel. I let him borrow my bike or ride us together when his is out of commission-he's making some adjustments, but I prefer to be in control. It's more comfortable and enjoyable. And believe you me, I have bought him sever bike parts as well as accessories. I'm sure there will be much more to come.
Sorry to hear about all these other instances of women not liking bikes. :-( I would not suggest advertising getting rid of the bike for a new baby cause you'll have one before you know it.... Trapped!

This sounds like my story. It took me 2 years to convince my wife that I needed a bike "because of the better fuel economy" and another 2 years to get her on the back of my cruiser. I took her to Cycle Gear and bought her anything she wanted for that first ride. She had way better gear than me. We took that first ride about 15 miles to have dinner. She was hooked. She told me to get rid of the Honda Sabre and buy a nice Harley. Sold the Sabre. Still saving for the Harley. Meanwhile, she won't ride on the back of the F4i. Like RoadiJeff's wife, she doesn't want to ride with her knees in her ears.
