Check this out.
I would definately try and make the university pay for it (even if it requires you getting a "parking" ticket), or just get some bondo and call it a day.....
another note....would a tank bra cover the dent?....i know it would suck if you tried to sell the bike.....

That is a bowl full of bullsh!t, Nauree. You may have no options for an accident that wasn't your fault. Do you have ANY kind of documentation (other than your word), that the airport security didn't hassle you about your parking habits? Good luck to you. You need to do everything within your means to get your bike fixed. I would think the school is going to have more options than you. Please, keep us posted...
I guess it is lack of documentation that they didn't hassle me about my parking habits. I've been parking there with my bike for 6 months now and the cops come by frequently.
Update:
I fount out the correct department to file a claim with the school which I did. Its been over a week and the police report is still not ready. I've been on the UPD every other day asking for it. I'm waiting on that now. I collected a couple of campus maps which shows lack of designated motorcycle parking on north campus. That part of campus is across a highway so parking on main campus motorcycle spots and walking to north campus is kinda out of the question. I still need to collect some repair quotes.

Print out some little notes to put on other bikers that park at campus so you can prove there are plenty of bikes so there needs to be a spot for ya. Say what you're doing and have them fill it out and drop it off somewhere or something.
