+1 on the launch.

I drove a 500hp Porsche once, after the launch it would be close for a while, but from a start I feel pretty comfortable in saying that my bike needs a better rider to launch it correctly. 500 hp in a car aint no joke.

I had a guy (with wife and kids in the car, probably coming home from church) come flyinging up on me on a dead street in town in a newer shellby GT mustang. I was doing about 40mph and he had a head start (I didn't see him until he was rolling hard on me, about to pass). I dropped it to first and away we went! I didn't pull on him as hard as I thought I should... but first gear caught up, second started pulling away. We both shut it down before the next light. I looked over to him and was going to give him the "that was fun" thumbs-up... but the dude wouldn't even look at me.

On the plus side... his daughter blew me a kiss.

Anyone saying that a M5 would beat a CBR is just insane. A chimpanzee would have to be riding the CBR and Mario Andretti would have to be driving the M5 for the bike to lose.

40 mph...then dropped to first? WOWSERS....

you street racers are all doing it wrong...you have to be racing in a school zone for maximum points.

See! Exactly! Tahoe, you are a gentlemen and a scholar! I swear, I'll try and wheelie over an old woman on a crosswalk in your name.

i have a small story that fits...

going up to fort collins CO for school late one night (about 1999 lol) and was doing about 100mph just cruisin.

a newer vette BLOWS by me. I drop a couple gears and finally catch up doing about 120mph and he notices me. He hits the gas and leaves me ridin there like we were both doing 45. it was pretty cool. I didnt even chase at that point.

btw, that was on a 94 F2.
