I just recently got rid of my Taurus PT145. Was a great gun and had it for about 5 years. No problems with it and was plenty small for concealed. My gun collection is currently small, wife made me sell a couple. I do have a very sweet custom AK-47. Will post a pic soon. I have a custom stock, 3 rail top cover, Bushnell 6 X 18 X 50 scope. Laser sight and flashlight. I use it for deer hunting. Turns heads when they see you hunting with a AK. Amazingly reliable and pretty darn accurate.

It's legal to hunt with an AK in Oregon? Hmmm, wow. That's pretty cool.

As for guns, I have a few, AR's, .22 rifle, a home defense Mossy 500. My carry gun is an XD40 with Meprolight night sights. Very comfortable in my hand. I have tried glocks and just don't like the feel in my hand. The XD felt right. Looking to get a S&W M&P in either 9mm or .40 cal.

I have my LTCF, (license to carry a firearm, here in PA), and everytime I got on my bike I am carrying.

You can hunt with an AK or an Ar-15. But you can only use a 5 round mag.

Yeah its legal. You need a 5 round clip and soft point bullets. Getting the soft points in my little town is almost impossible.

I have a glock 30 and love it. Its a 45 I keep it for my house, but it is relatively easy to carry if you think about it. If you are looking for a carry weapon pick the lightest slimmest thing you can find. I don't like things below 9mm though because I don't believe they have enough stopping power.

Before a how big of a gun debate starts, there is plenty of data to show that the bullet has far more to do with knock down than the size of the bullet. If you can't cluster your shots in a quarter circumference, then maybe you have the wrong gun, (or need more practice). Here is a link on knockdown rates. http://www.chuckhawks.com/handgun_power_chart.htm

I choose 9mm, first and foremost because everyone in the house is comfortable shooting a 9mm. I love my .44 mag, but I don't carry it daily, nor count on my wife to use it effectively. She can and does handle the 9mm well. my 8 year old is able to shoot it as well.So it gets top billing as the side arm. Bullets are cheap(relative these days) and can be found anywhere. Knockdown is 80's to mid 90's. So two to the chest in the same time I can get one to center mass with the ole .44 is ok with me.

The shotgun is my first draw in home defense.
