Default CBR sales figures

Anyone know how many CBR's were sold each year, worldwide? It would be really cool to know how many, of each model, in each year, even how many were sold in what color schemes, of our beautiful bikes that are (or were) out there in the world.

For instance, CBR Classic has an incredibly gorgeous ride, it's even more beautiful because it has been so well preserved. I think it would be fun to somehow try and track how many were made, and how many (or few) may still be around, just for our own bragging rights if we should be so lucky as to still have these gems a decade or three from now.

The quick answer may be "thousands and thousands", which is correct, but how many survive? How important is that to you? Maybe its not, but to me it's important, if for no other reason than the mere fact that if my bike is a survivor, then so am I.

Just thought it might be a fun new thread to keep us busy. In January. Peace out.

Not as broke down as you described but it is a good insight onto what goes on with honda.

Asia may have a lot more sales in terms of numbers of units but North America spends more money total. The reason is all of the scooters and super cubs sold in Asia that people use as their primary vehicles (notice the caption on the page about the 50 millionth supercub).

I recall reading that in 2006, The CBR 1000rr was the second best selling. The squid-worthy gixxer 1k took the number one spot. I can not remember if they were only comparing literbikes or all bikes.
