i think that D2VW14_20 hit it on the head. this particular dealership is just using it as a advertising thing.

i think its ridiculous that the cash for clunkers deal doesnt pertain to motorcycles. most every motorcycle made is going to get better mpg and have cleaner emissions than some old pos car! isnt that the whole point of the damn program?!

Now that choice is yours ... simple , one more shot at me and its bye bye ...

Dunno. I can think of a way it could be done but I'd have to own 2 dealerships (car and motorcycle). And it could possibly be interpreted as manipulating the program.

Officially I couldn't offer you the Cash4Clunkers program. But I could do is offer you the $4500 credit for your qualifying vehicle and put it towards a motorcycle purchase. Once the deal is done and everything, transfer your old car over to my car dealership and work the program as normal from there.

If you're wondering about the legitimacy of the program, investigate the motorcycle dealership. If it is owned by someone who also owns a car dealership, it could possibly be legit... For you at least. I'd also read everything very carefully before signing anything.

i talked to the guy again today and questioned him a bit more. he said that the owner of the dealership is going to give you a 4500 dollar credit on your new bike, and then take your clunker and donate it to charity. then use the donation as a tax write off.

so in reality, he isnt actually using the government voucher for the cash for clunkers. he is using the name as a marketing/advertising deal.

what do you think!?

Again, before I signed anything I'd read it extremely carefully. If I had a lawyer friend, I'd even consider taking the contracts to him first. Its easy to maniuplate the system from a business standpoint. But you'd be the consumer in this case. If your end is bulletproof, your responsibility would end when he put your name on the title of the bike.

At that point, there'd be no backsies.
