Default Can't find gear in my size :(

So, I've been looking at CBR600rr's the past few days, went to go sit on one today and when I walked in the dealer there was a nice shiny 2013 KTM 690 Duke sitting right in front of me.

I've been debating on getting a supersport or a supermoto...and the Duke seems to bridge the gap quite nicely, and it's slightly cheaper than the 600rr, so I might just pick one up. Unfortunately none of my gear really matches the paint on the duke so I'll be needing a new jacket mainly. My current Alpinestars jacket is a size 42 Euro. I'm a small guy, about 6' tall and about 135 pounds.

Anyways to get to the point...I'm looking on Revzilla and Alpinestars and other gear sites and nobody makes 42 jackets! I found mine on eBay but I can't find any online...does anybody have ideas on where to find a good quality leather jacket in size 42?

Wear the gear you have. Who cares if it matches....

I'm sure somebody can order gear in your size, if they don't stock it.

Oh, I'll wear the gear I have, but I just wanted something that would match for down the road. Right now I don't care if I wore a bright pink suit, as long as it was safe and I was riding

Of course I can't ride until it warms up and the sand clears off the roads...but once it starts getting warmed I have to decide between the Duke and the 600rr...tough choice!

Oh and Corrupt, I've had TERRIBLE experiences ordering through MSS, I doubt I'll ever do business there again, their Customer Service was horrible, they have a fake BBB rating and they aren't very good at communicating with their customers.

Oh come on demon, a new bike is a great excuse to get new gear.

@TGIM - fair enough. Never dealt with them myself, but almost ordered my old S&S jacket thru them. But selection does not make up for the lack of service. I have gone thru Canada's motorcycle for everything. Probably wouldn't be that cost effective for you. They even gave me a full refund on an ill-fitting pair of pants outside their return period.

Everything in the end was fixed, but it took way too long, and was only a result of me bothering them non-stop.

I hate to say this but I'm fairly certain you're not wearing the right size jacket. Im 5' 11" 137lbs in au natural. I went to Revzilla (perk of living in Philly) and they insisted I was wearing the wrong size jacket. They fitted me in a Dainese 48 euro which fits perfect. And no, it wasn't a ploy to sell me a Dainese jacket. I had bought my old Dainese from them and was replacing it after my lowside.

Take your measurement (chest, arm length, waist), call Revzilla and ask for Kat. Give her the numbers and let her pick your size. She used to work for Dainese I understand. When I bought my jacket, she just glanced at me and said "size 48".

That sucks man. I've had similar problems with online retailers for all kinds of things.

To go with what kuroshio said, Revzilla seems to be really good about explaining and understanding their gear. When I was buying my first jacket, I had no idea what size to get. I knew every manufacturer of jackets would have slightly different sizing, and ordering online would be a crap shoot. I ended up finding a bunch of jacket reviews on Revzilla's youtube page. They had guys of similar size to me in similar jackets to what I was looking for. Went with that and took a leap of faith and it worked perfect!

Well, my Alpinestars jacket has a tag that says size 42. When I measure my chest it comes to 33'' which on size charts points to a 42...not sure what to tell you It fits perfectly, even a bit loose at the bottom, snug everywhere else though.

The big thing about gear fitment is where is the armor when you're riding. While Yumi was visiting Philly, we went to Revzilla and I tried on a track suit. It felt like it was trying to turn me into Gollum's stunt double from the Hobbit. Hyper frontal wedgie, forced slouch etc. They insisted it was the right size, made me climb on one of the showroom bikes and go into a tuck.

Second I did that, the suit all but disappeared with the pucks, elbow and shoulder armor landing right where it's supposed to. If you're wearing the wrong size gear, it will not protect you to its full capacity because the armor isn't in the proper location while riding . I'd seriously have them check your size. You jacket size may be way wrong, which would attribute to being unable to find a jacket in your size.

42 euro sounds waaaay to small for you, given our similarity in height / weight.

I dunno either. I don't have a tape measure to measure my chest. But my jacket is definitely a 48... And when ppl have talked about my chest it is usually prefaced by the word "bird"
