Default Bought me a Geetar case

One time, a young man was staying
with us, and he had a guitar case

Bought me a cheapy Fender. I need to get on the PC some more and I've always wanted to play. Came with a dvd thats pretty easy to follow. Its just so hard switching your fingers in time.

Anybody got some easy song tabs?

Learn chords before you really try to play solos. You can play a whole song with just 3 chords. G, A, E, Em, D, F are all simple chords.

i disagree..

learn the scales first, and mix in come basic chords with that..... most people just learn a few chords then give up.. so to prevent that from happening give yourself a better foundation of knowledge.

Plus if you eventually can fly through the major and minor scales you are going to have no problem with chords whatsoever.

imo.. learning a few chords was what made me quit guitar in 7th grade and go to drums.. now i play both.

What exactly are scales? I'm not a complete noob to music but I'm a little confused. The dvd that came with my is doing chords. I have 5 memorized, just got to get the fingers to move smoothly.

I would take some lessons if I were you. If you are serious, it will improve your playing to have a professional teach you the proper technique. Also, I would encourage you to learn notes rather than tablature. I will help you in the long run. If you just want to play guitar for yourself, or maybe around the campfire, then do what ever is easiest for you. Nothing worse than turning something fun into something totally tedious and frustrating.
