Hello I was wondering if any knows if the different colors on the bearings are for differences in the crank journals or the cases , I need to swap a lower case on a 29 and wasn't sure if I need to change the bearings also

it's for both.
no worries though, you can easily do that.
have you found a lower case? they are hard to find by themselves, but just make sure the guy you buy it from copies the numbers onto the bottom case that were on the top.
since you buy the bearings in halves, you just convert the bottom case to the crank seperately.
so instead of buying 5 pairs of bearings, you're going to buy 5 bearings that correspond to the crank and top case, then 5 bearings that correspond to the lower case and crank.
(if you need a lower case, i have one that i'm not using, i can sell you for cheap, pm me)
