Default Blu-ray versus upconversion

Has anyone switched over to blu-ray? Maybe even did a side comparison between normal DVD in an upconverting player and blu-ray.I`m curious as to the quality difference between the 2. Many Blu-ray players are under $300 and some under $200 (link).

upconvert looks great, but i cant say anything about BR, have not gotten to really experience it. i think the upconversion looks damn close if not just like hd-dvd, that i do have.

upconvert is OK, BlueRay OWNS IT!!!! Seriously, no comparison. Native 1080i or p is going to destroy fake upscale crap any day of the week.

Didnt you just posted a link to woot with bluray player at $129? My "format change theory" is: When the rental stores walls are at least 50% one format, that is when I embrace the new technology. Currently they are still around 5-10%.

digital downloads are the future, bluray will lose the war to them. look at the progress netflix has already made in streaming video. the new xbox LIVE is supposed to be equipped with the ability for netflix as well, available TODAY! netflix also has on demand web streaming and third party set top boxes for the house.
