Considering the subject. I stopped by the gun range and ordered the Taurus 840SSC
Gonna try to get back into regular range trips and wanted to upgrade my sidearm. I like the idea of having a conceal capable gun with a hammer instead of those damn firing pins. Cost me $469 and comes with an 11 round mag and a 15 round extended mag.

Yeah I actually left Yolie home today in case they called and said to come pick it up. No joy so I'm taking the cage again tomorrow. Can't wait to start hitting the range again regularly.
I'm a Taurus fan tho. Ppl tend to look down on them because they're inexpensive. But they're reliable and shoot well.

Taurus got their start by buying the Beretta's Brazilian Arms Factory, when it was closed.
Brazil's military would only buy the P-92's if they were manufactured "in-country".
So their first gun was the 9mm. Then they started branching into the revolvers...
and the legend was born. They are excellent guns, and their newer stuff
is very innovative.

If you get a quality pistol then that doesn't happen. The % of say glock's breaking those things and being in-op are rediculously small. Heck, besides the lower brands like [please don't get offended] kel-tec, tarus, etc or older pistols like a cz-52 I never really hear of it happening. Besides all that, your hammer wearing new pistol still has a firing pin that can break
Now that Im done playing devils advicate, I also prefer a hammer vs striker fired when I can. Can being the word here, as my kahr PM9 doesn't have a non striker option and theres nothing else that small in a 9mm that I like. Hope you enjoy the new pistol!

So after an hour of sheer boredom while they performed the background check (system was running slow today) I got to try and stuff this into Yolie's saddle bag.
It is a very nice case it comes in. One corner wouldn't fit in the saddle bag but ah well. This is what's in the case
It currently has the 15 round extended mag in it. Taurus got clever with that. The extended mag when inserted makes it a full size grip.
I slipped into the 11 round mag and brought out my Taurus Millennium 380 for a size comparison
Damn near identical in size. And the 380 disappears under a shirt even on a skinny guy like me. I didn't squeeze off any rounds while I was there. I had to get home. But the range where I bought it includes a free lesson on range with any purchase. So I'll be there next Wednesday after work
